The animal feed industry is highly dynamic and ever-changing. With demands from everyone from livestock farmers to pet owners shaped by increased awareness around animal nutrition, high care standards and no shortage of regulation, animal feed producers have to work hard to keep up with expectations.

To that end, we have recently identified and developed several new products that we believe complement our already diverse animal feed range. Here’s what’s new.
Calcium Propionate - Widely used as a preservative in both animal and human foods, calcium propionate also helps to regulate healthy intestinal microbiota in animals and promote growth.
Chondroitin Sulphate, Glucosamine HCl, Methyl sulfonyl Methane (MSM) – This trio of substances are widely used in alternative medicine for their ability to reduce joint inflammation, especially that associated with osteoarthritis. These properties are also harnessed as joint supplements for horses and dogs.
Vitamin E Replacer – Vitamin E is widely recognised for its anti-oxidant properties, and in human nutrition, is recognised as the most significant lipid-soluble anti-oxidant capable of removing so-called ‘free radical’ particles that damage cells. However, the vitamins market is subject to high price volatility, which poses a major barrier for many animal feed producers.
In response to this, we have sourced a more cost-effective yet still highly efficient and natural anti-oxidant product to replace or supplement Vitamin E usage in animal feed for various species. Results from several comprehensive studies have shown this substance to be highly effective.
Folic Acid (Vitamin B9) - We continue to add to our portfolio of vitamins, and we are now pleased to announce the addition of Folic Acid to this range. Folic Acid is an essential vitamin needed to maintain animal health, growth, and development.
Malic Acid – Malic acid has been shown to be very beneficial for gut health in cows, as it stimulates growth of the dominant bacteria that regulate digestion in the rumen. Increasing malic acid in a dairy herd’s diet increases weight gain and milk yield without increasing the overall levels of food digested. We stock Malic acid in several granulometries.
Sorbitol Powder – Sorbitol is a well known artificial sweetener widely used in human food products. Studies also show that its use as a dietary supplement in cattle feed increases blood glucose levels and milk production.
